Collaboration has been particularly important for the progress made towards Astoria Dog Owners Association’s goal of getting a new dog run built in Astoria, Queens. In particular, we have worked closely with Councilman Costa Constantinides through Participatory Budgeting and beyond, as well as the Old Astoria Neighborhood Association. Additional support has come from Queens Borough President Melinda Katz and Senator Michael Gianaris, as well at the New York City Parks Department.
Without the dedication of our public officials, and the support of other community groups, we would not have been able to accomplish out goal of getting Astoria’s first dog run approved, funded, and designed.
